Two boar's prepare for a festival, with the older boar painting the younger warrior's face for him.

Costumes are based on traditional festival garb from Papua New Guinea, though a bit more subdued than what you'd find at festivals these days. The title for the piece comes from a video (ongka's Big Moka) I was forced to watch over and over and over while getting my anthropology degree. I think they made you watch it in every class. Apparently I am not the only person who had to suffer through the only video ever made on moka ceremonies as the band Toploader named an album after it. Go fig.

Sculpture is done in ApoxieSculpt and painted in acrylic with natural sand on the base. The shine on the shell decorations, eyes, and snouts was done with clear glue.
